Arlo from Australia: The story of a dog who is SIDE BY SIDE WITH BRAVE PEOPLE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER (VIDEO)

Get ready for the story about a wonderful therapy dog from Adelaide, Australia. Arlo and his family – Nick and Vesna, shared with us all priceless moments they spend together, the life mission that they carry out every single day, relief, happiness and peace they bring to people.

When he contracted cancer in 2016, Nick was told that he has only 4 months left to live, if he does not receive therapy. 18 months later, they gave him only 1 more month to live. All these hard moments and diseases he encountered, caused PTSD – post-traumatic stress disorder.

To help him cope with his condition, the doctor recommended him – a therapy dog. They researched and studied different breeds of dogs, and decided to take him – Arlo, a mix of Maltese and Poodle. That is how Arlo became a member of their family.

As a therapy dog in the anti-cancer service – Arlo, together with Nick, started visiting patients in a dog bag, with a medical certificate and as a therapeutic companion. He learned to recognize various medical conditions and warnings, he behaved very well, so the visit to other patients on radiotherapy and chemotherapy began.

This brought a lot of happiness and peace to patients, but also the medical staff, so it was often heard: „Arlo’s in the hospital!“ People would gather around him, caress him, play with him; he would change the mood of the patients, bring some indescribable joy, excitement and morale to those who struggle with a serious illness on a daily basis.

Today, Arlo is also supported by The Hospital Research Foundation, so he officially became a „Furryfighter“ ambassador. Nnik told us he was alive thanks to the Arlo, and that his life is more beautiful because of this little fella. Arlo helped his health mentally and physically. And not only to him, but also to the all people they visit together.

In Arl’s photos, there are a lot of happy faces in difficult moments, and they all show how much joy there is – just because this little furry friend is with them.

Even our tennis player Novak Djoković had this amazing opportunity to meet this brave dog in Australia, who changes the world of others and infuses happiness.

In a conversation with Niko, we learned that his father-in-law was Vlada Mančić, a Serbian poet, and that his great support – his wife Vesna, was of Serbian origin. He thanked us for spreading positive stories, which, as he says, are the best medicine in these times. And the motto they have been following all their lives is – Never give up!
